some polka dots i spotted...

I'm obviously still smitten with the wall decal idea in my whimsical windows post here. But beyond polka-dotted ones, am also attracted to these black or white decals...

The care symbols would look adorable in a laundry room (and there's that blue-gray color again! See related post here.). And I love the idea of using a wall decal for a headboard-less bed.

Finally, these ones just made me smile...

Yes, I was born during the times of Atari Pong and Pacman (see previous Pacman post here). But I can still play a mean game of Tetris! (I know, still an old game! Eep, down in the dots moment!) The graphic decals of things you shouldn't forget before leaving the house is also quite endearing. Reminds me of Patricialoves' chalkboard door here. The racetrack decals with a few actual toy cars hanging on the wall would be awesome in my son's room! And the chalkboard animals... yes, am still obsessed with chalkboard walls (see previous post here)... Imagine! The giraffe can be spotted one day and striped the next! Plus, I adooore the elephants!

Photos via Google images (sorry, too many images. couldn't track all the links to my sources. you should find them via google images by typing these keywords: wall decals/polka-dot wall decals/pacman wall decals/pong wall decals/tetris wall decals. or email me for the sitenames. btw, you can also google space invaders wall decal which i thought was cool but since i didn't really play that game much in the 80's, i decided against including it here.). The first photo of polka-dotted walls was purchased from Fotolia by a dear follower (Thanks N.E.!).

Noah says...

On the way to school, Noah was reading all the signs on the road. As we passed Ortigas Home Depot, he asked, "Is this where we bought our home?"

Today, I am loving...

Today, I am loving... the equestrian feel in these pieces from Smythe Les Vestes Fall 2011 Collection. I already love their henley shirts, now even more with those equestrian details in camel leather. And the camel buttons!

And this cape is just gorgeous! I've been eyeing some black capes for a while now, but the leather and zipper detail of the Smythe Les Vestes cape trumps these other button-down capes I've been considering.

Smythe has quite a few equestrian coats in its line which have been spotted on Blake Lively, Katie Perry and Kate Hudson. But am particularly smitten with the color of this Lemongrass Equestrian Jacket (and I've never been a lover of yellow) -- especially paired with the striped baby-blue shirt!

Today, I am loving... these equestrian-inspired pieces.

Color Obsession: Turquoise and Red

I would never have thought of this color combination until I saw this image from Garance Dore.

A bit of surfing... and the color combo grew on me!

What about you? Did turquoise + red grow on you too?

Maybe we should start with small doses. Like a turquoise + red accent piece...

Can you imagine wearing turquoise + red?

Or would you rather start with something subtle like this turquoise trench with peekaboo red lining from the Burberry Prorsum Resort 2012 Collection?

Dorothy seemed to think it looked good. And she's been wearing this combination for ages! :)

Whimsical Wednesday!

It's the middle of the workweek once again! And before you bite someone's head off, let's get whimsical with these playful products that made me smile.

Considering how long piggy bank's have been around, how come no one else has thought of putting the coin slots on the piggy's snout?

Now, here are some novel teas...
Isn't this zipper tag on this teabag perfect for this zipper cup?

What about these USB rings?

This I'll be scared to use.

Then again, if I get wounded from the mousetrappad...

Wouldn't it be hilarious if you had a wound above your upper lip?

And finally, my absolute favorite... These salad tossers!

Hope they made you smile too! Have a whimsical Wednesday!

when words & pictures collide part 2

A picture may be worth a thousand words. But a picture combined with choice words is a thousand times more powerful. And as mentioned in my previous post here, I have collected quite a few images of both words and pictures from various sources. So here are more random words and pictures joined together for more meaningful life truths.

May your Tuesday be filled with love, success, joy and dreams!

when words & pictures collide

Everytime I come across something beautiful, I save it in my dots & things folder. Over the past months, I've accumulated quite a number of images of both words and pictures. Inspired by the perfect combination of photos above from From Ainsley With Love, here are a few random combinations of words and pictures I've put together from various sources.

After all, there are no compromises on a tumbler of Starbucks coffee since you can pick your milk, etc. And how fabulous are those jeans on her?!

i just looove this photo of Olivia Palermo from the ASOS shoot -- mostly because of the chic hat. But when I look at the photo with the skyline peeking out at the bottom, it seems she's on top of the world. Yet there's something sad or determined in her expression, making it perfect for this Henry Ford quote.

It is highly unlikely that J.D. Salinger was talking about such a sophisticated girl. But the breeze blowing this woman's hair (from Jamie Beck's collection of animated gif photos featured here, here, here and here) just makes this woman incredibly enchanting -- befitting the object of the main character's unwavering love.

Isn't it wonderful when words and pictures collide?

Have an amazing Monday!
